Miso Honey Butter Chicken with Soy Noodles & Broccoli
Serves 6-8 | For 1 lb pasta
A glossy, flavor-packed dish that hits every note — salty, sweet, savory, and just a little earthy. Miso and butter create a silky base that clings to soy-coated noodles, while honey adds balance and Hippy Pilgrim seasonings layer in depth. It’s simple enough for a weeknight but impressive enough to steal the cover of Bon Appétit.
Ingredients
- Chicken & Marinade
- 1 ½ lbs chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless breasts
- 2 Tbsp white miso paste
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tsp Hippy Pilgrim Ginger Turmeric Garlic Salt
- 2 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- Noodles & Sauce
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 ½ Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp white miso paste
- 1 Tbsp honey
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tsp Hippy Pilgrim Zero Salt Garlic Onion Seasoning
- Optional garnish: toasted sesame seeds, sliced scallions, or a drizzle of chili oil
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together miso, soy sauce, honey, melted butter, grated garlic, and Hippy Pilgrim Ginger Turmeric Garlic Salt. Add chicken and toss to coat. Let sit 15 minutes (room temp) or refrigerate up to 2 hours.
- Cook Pasta & Broccoli: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook to al dente. In the last 3 minutes, toss in the broccoli. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add chicken and cook 3–4 minutes per side, until browned and just cooked through. Remove and slice.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter, soy sauce, miso, and honey. Whisk until the butter melts into a silky glaze. Stir in the reserved pasta water to loosen slightly.
- Combine: Add drained pasta and broccoli to the sauce. Sprinkle in Hippy Pilgrim Zero Salt Garlic Onion Seasoning and toss until evenly coated and glossy. Add sliced chicken back to the pan and toss to coat.
- Serve: Twirl noodles high on the plate, top with chicken, and finish with scallions, sesame seeds, or a touch of chili oil for shine.
Suzy’s Tips
- White miso keeps it light and savory; yellow miso gives a richer, deeper note.
- Double the sauce ingredients if you like it extra coated and glossy.
- Leftovers reheat beautifully by adding a splash of water or broth.
